Business & Operations Associate
Job Description
​
We are seeking a highly motivated team player, with superior organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills as a Business and Operations Associate. In this role, you will work directly with our CEO at our head office in Mississauga, be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial and operational decision-making, and will provide strategic support to our growth.
The ideal candidate is an excellent leader with a can-do attitude; ready to roll up their sleeves to solve problems.
Responsibilities
Business and Academic Research:

Assisting management in conducting market research, mining US insurance claims data & writing comprehensive business reports.

Conducting academic literature reviews and assisting management in developing value proposition calculators.

Assisting the technical team in drafting scientific posters, academic manuscripts and technical white papers for the clinical community.

Collaborating with surgeons/academics on pre-clinical and clinical study planning
-
Conduct IP searches and summarize results.

Finance and Operations Related:
-
Support the CEO and other departments with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans.

Provide consolidated financial and operational performance reporting, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics that will improve overall financial performance and allow the organization to reach or exceed its financial goals.

File and properly label and organize expenses for accountants and bookkeepers, and assist with payment process.

Work closely with CEO on validating various financial assumptions and fine-tuning financial forecasting models in anticipation of shifting market dynamics.

Apply and report for non-dilutive funding opportunities such as grants pitch competitions.

Coordinate and disseminate internal company communication materials to staff relating to company policies, health and safety, social events, among others.

Manage company facilities, equipment, furniture and supplies.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in finance, accounting, commerce, business administration or engineering management

Strong communicator (both written and verbal)

Advanced MS Excel skills and proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint)

Detail-oriented with excell ent organizational skills
-
Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
-
Experience working in a fast-paced driven environment, a great track record in a start-up
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle

Anticipated Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Full time (Monday to Friday at 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week) Travel up to 25% of the time.
​
Compensation commensurate with experience.
